Salisbury Steak Gravy Dish (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Patties

01 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
02 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
03 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
04 - 1 large egg
05 - 1 pound of 80/20 ground beef
06 - 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
07 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
08 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
09 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
10 - 1/3 cup of fine breadcrumbs

→ Gravy

11 - Fresh parsley, chopped, for topping
12 - Salt and ground black pepper to taste
13 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
14 - 1 medium onion, sliced thin
15 - 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
16 - 2 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
17 - 2 cups beef broth
18 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
19 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

# Instructions:

01 - Gently combine the beef, breadcrumbs, egg, and all the seasonings. Make 4 oval-shaped patties with the mixture.
02 - Cook patties in a heated skillet for 3–4 minutes on each side until they turn a deep brown. Put them aside once done.
03 - Melt butter in the skillet and cook the onion slices for 8–10 minutes, stirring sometimes, until they’re golden brown.
04 - Mix flour into the onions, then slowly whisk in beef broth and the seasonings. Keep stirring until you get a thick gravy.
05 - Put the browned patties back into the gravy. Cover the skillet and cook on low heat for 10–12 minutes until fully cooked (160°F).

# Notes:

01 - Works wonderfully served over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
02 - Be careful not to knead the meat too much—this keeps the patties soft and moist.
