Cookie Icing (Printable Version)

An easy and versatile icing for sugar cookies. Use it for detailed outlining or smooth flooding to create stunning decorations.

# What You’ll Need:

01 - 4 cups (480g) powdered sugar
02 - 5-6 tablespoons milk (75-90ml)
03 - 4 teaspoons light corn syrup
04 - 1 teaspoon clear vanilla extract
05 - Optional: food coloring

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Stir together the powdered sugar, light corn syrup, vanilla, and 5 tablespoons of milk until smooth.
02 - Add a little milk at a time until the icing forms a ribbon that stays for 3-4 seconds. Divide off a third for your outlining.
03 - Mix in more milk with the remaining icing until it settles back into the bowl quickly.
04 - If you'd like, mix colors into both the outlined and filled icing recipes.
05 - Draw an icing border first and then fill inside. Gaps? Just use a toothpick to fix them up.
06 - Leave cookies out for 20-24 hours so everything dries fully before stacking.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Yields about 1 3/4 cups of icing
02 - This icing can be made in advance and stored in the fridge
03 - The corn syrup gives it that glossy look
