Turn the oven on to 350° to preheat.

Whip the sugar, butter, and salt together until fluffy.

Add in vanilla, almond essence, and egg. Don’t forget to scoop down the sides of the bowl.

If you want color, now’s the time to mix in food dye.

Slowly add in the flour and stir till it’s soft and smooth.

Load dough into a cookie press and press them directly onto a clean, ungreased baking sheet.

Toss some sprinkles on top now if desired.

Pop the tray in the oven for 8 minutes till edges just turn a bit golden.

Give them a few moments to cool, then gently move them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
