Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup hot water (100-110°F).
02 - 1 (1/4 oz) packet active dry yeast.
03 - 1 teaspoon sugar (for yeast).
04 - 5 1/2 cups Lily white yeast flour.
05 - 1/4 cup sugar.
06 - 3/4 teaspoon salt.
07 - 1 cup cold butter, cubed (divided).
08 - 2 cups buttermilk.
09 - 1/4 cup melted butter (for brushing).

# Instructions:

01 - Mix warm water, yeast, and 1 tsp sugar. Let stand 5 minutes.
02 - Combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar, and salt in large bowl.
03 - Cut cold butter into flour until crumbly.
04 - Add yeast mixture and buttermilk, mix until just moist.
05 - Cover, refrigerate 2 hours to 5 days.
06 - Heat oven to 400°F.
07 - Knead dough 3-4 times on floured surface.
08 - Roll 3/4 inch thick, fold, repeat.
09 - Cut with biscuit cutter, place touching in greased skillet.
10 - Brush with butter, bake 15-20 minutes.
