Strawberry Chocolate Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 1/2 cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter, softened until creamy
02 - 1 cup of packed light brown sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons of granulated white sugar
04 - 1 large egg, warmed to room temperature
05 - 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

→ Dry Ingredients

06 - 1 3/4 cups (8 ounces) of all-purpose flour
07 - 3/4 teaspoon of baking soda
08 - 1/2 teaspoon of salt

→ Mix-ins & Decoration

09 - 1 cup of freeze-dried strawberries, slightly crushed
10 - 8 ounces of chopped dark chocolate
11 - Chocolate melting wafers for dipping and drizzling over cookies

# Instructions:

01 - Whip the softened butter along with the sugars until it’s nice and airy. Scrape the sides of your bowl, then stir in the egg and vanilla until everything is smooth. Don’t forget to scrape the bowl again to mix it all well.
02 - In a different bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt together. Gradually add this dry mix into your butter mixture while your mixer runs on low. Mix until it’s just combined—overmixing makes cookies dense! Gently fold the chocolate chunks and the slightly crushed strawberries into the dough.
03 - Scoop out small portions of the dough onto a parchment-covered baking sheet. A cookie scoop makes it handy! Lightly press each dough ball to flatten them slightly.
04 - Pop the tray into a preheated oven at 350°F. Bake for 11-14 minutes until the edges turn a light golden color and the centers are barely set. Let the cookies cool on the tray for about 5 minutes, then move them to a rack to cool off completely.
05 - After the cookies are completely cool, dunk their bottoms in melted chocolate wafers and scrape away any extra chocolate. Use a piping or zip bag with the tip clipped off to drizzle more melted chocolate on top. Wait for the chocolate to harden before digging in!

# Notes:

01 - It’s super important that your ingredients are at room temp for a perfect consistency!
02 - The cookies will firm up more as they cool, so don’t worry if they seem a little soft.
03 - Make sure the chocolate sets fully before stacking or storing the cookies.
