01 - Spread butter on one side of both bread slices. Set aside a bit of butter to use later.
02 - Smear cream cheese on the unbuttered side of the bread. Stack bacon, sprinkle jalapeño pieces, and add cheese.
03 - Heat the leftover butter in a small pan. Toss in panko crumbs and cook until they’re golden brown.
04 - Sprinkle toasted panko on top of the cheese layers, then add the second slice of bread (buttered side facing up). Grill for 5-10 minutes per side until crispy and golden.
# Notes:
01 - Skip jalapeño seeds if you want less spice.
02 - Choose a bread that holds up well during cooking.
03 - Fresh cheese melts more evenly.
04 - This is a zesty take on the usual grilled cheese.
