Penne Peas Bacon Dish (Printable Version)

A speedy pasta dish blending penne, tender peas, and crispy bacon in a creamy sauce. Ready fast in just 20 minutes.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Key Components

01 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
02 - 6 thick slices bacon, chopped small
03 - ¾ pound penne pasta
04 - ½ yellow onion, finely chopped
05 - ¼ cup heavy cream
06 - 1 cup frozen peas

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Get a big pot of water boiling with some salt. Toss in the pasta first, and halfway through, add the peas. Stop cooking about a minute before the package says it's done so you'll have that slight chew.
02 - Pour olive oil into a big pan and heat it over medium-high. Add chopped bacon and onions, stirring often until they’re golden and the bacon’s crispy but not overdone.
03 - After draining the pasta and peas, toss them into the skillet with the onion-bacon mixture. Then drop the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream. Stir it all up, adding extra cream if it feels a bit dry.
04 - Plate it up right away while it’s still steaming hot. Let everyone sprinkle on as much cheese as they’d like.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Eat it quickly because pasta keeps softening after it's cooked.
02 - Best enjoyed served in big bowls.
03 - Like Italians always say, 'You wait for the pasta, not the other way around.'
