Oreo Peppermint Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - ½ cup chopped cold butter.
02 - ¼ teaspoon table salt.
03 - 1 teaspoon vanilla essence.
04 - ½ cup granulated sugar.
05 - 1 large egg, room temp.
06 - ½ teaspoon each baking powder and baking soda.
07 - ¼ cup packed white sugar.
08 - 3 teaspoons of cornstarch.
09 - 1½ cups plain flour.
10 - ½ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet).
11 - ½ cup chocolate chips (white).
12 - ½ cup bits of crushed peppermint.
13 - 8 Oreos, roughly cut.

# Instructions:

01 - Set the oven to 350°F. Cover your baking trays with parchment. Prep the butter by cutting it up.
02 - Beat butter with the brown sugar until soft and fluffy. Add in vanilla, egg, and then mix. Toss in the white sugar and blend for 2-3 minutes again.
03 - Add flour, salt, cornstarch, baking soda, and powder. Stir everything together until combined smoothly.
04 - Fold in peppermint bits, chopped Oreos, and both chocolate chip types. Set aside a bit of each for toppings.
05 - Shape dough into ⅓ cup balls. Decorate with the reserved toppings, then pop them into the oven for 9-11 minutes until the edges look done.
