Italian Holiday Cookie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - ½ cup salted butter, softened.
02 - 3 large eggs.
03 - 2 teaspoons baking powder.
04 - 2½ cups all-purpose flour.
05 - ½ cup white sugar.
06 - 1½ teaspoons almond flavoring.
07 - 1 teaspoon almond flavoring.
08 - 2-3 tablespoons milk, any type.
09 - 2 cups confectioner's sugar.
10 - Small decorative sprinkles.

# Instructions:

01 - Stir together the baking powder with flour in a small dish. Leave it for now.
02 - Whip the butter until creamy. Toss in eggs, almond flavoring, and sugar, then beat it. Don’t worry if it looks a little uneven.
03 - Mix the flour combo into the wet stuff. Stir just until combined, then chill for at least an hour.
04 - Scoop dough into balls (a tablespoon works great). Space them a bit apart, like an inch, on a baking sheet with parchment.
05 - Pop them in the oven at 350°F for about 8-10 minutes. Don’t let them brown. Let them cool all the way.
06 - Mix confectioner's sugar and milk a bit at a time until it’s nice and thick. Stir in flavoring too.
07 - Dip the cooled cookies in the glaze. Set them on a rack so excess drips off, then sprinkle while wet.

# Notes:

01 - Chill the dough between making batches.
02 - Overbaking makes them dry, so keep an eye out.
03 - Swap almond flavoring for vanilla or anise if you’d like.
