Hearty Cabbage Soup (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3 spoons brown sugar.
02 - 4 cups cabbage, chopped.
03 - 2 garlic cloves, finely sliced.
04 - 4 cups beef stock (low sodium).
05 - 1 yellow onion, diced.
06 - Salt and black pepper to taste.
07 - 1 pound ground beef.
08 - 2 spoons of cooking oil.
09 - 3 8-ounce cans of tomato sauce.
10 - 1 bay leaf.
11 - 1/2 cup of uncooked white rice.
12 - 2 medium carrots, sliced thin.
13 - 2 spoons fresh parsley, chopped.

# Instructions:

01 - Warm oil in a large pot. Toss in ground beef, season with salt and pepper. Break it up while it browns completely.
02 - Mix in garlic and chopped onion. Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes until they soften.
03 - Pour in tomato sauce, beef broth, rice, sugar, bay leaf, cabbage, and carrots. Stir everything together evenly.
04 - Bring to a gentle boil, put on a lid, and let it cook for 25 minutes until the rice is tender.
05 - Remove the bay leaf, then sprinkle parsley on top before serving.

01 - Feeds about 6 people.
02 - Season more with salt if needed.
