Sweet Nut Crunch (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - ½ cup salted peanuts.
02 - ½ cup almond slices.
03 - ½ teaspoon baking soda.
04 - ⅓ cup water.
05 - ½ cup light corn syrup.
06 - ¾ cup granulated sugar.
07 - ½ cup salted butter.

# Instructions:

01 - Put a sheet of parchment on a rimmed baking pan and leave it nearby. Lay out all your ingredients so they're handy before you start cooking.
02 - Toss the butter into a big saucepan and let it melt gently over medium-high heat.
03 - When the butter is liquid, add sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir for around 2 minutes until the sugar dissolves.
04 - Secure a candy thermometer, then cook the mixture until it hits 300°F. Stir every so often, which should take about 15 minutes.
05 - Once the temperature reaches 300°F, mix in the baking soda fast.
06 - Quickly dump in the almonds and peanuts. Pour everything onto the baking sheet and spread it out smoothly as best you can.
07 - Let it sit for 30 minutes until fully cooled. Then, break it into chunks.
