Drop the carrots into your slow cooker.

Sprinkle salt, cinnamon, and sugar over them. Give it all a gentle stir.

Pour on the maple syrup, then toss everything around so it's well-coated.

Scatter butter pieces on top and pop the lid on.

Turn the slow cooker to high for 3 hours or low for 5-6 hours. Stir midway, once or twice.

During the last 30 minutes, crank up to high and leave the lid off so the sauce thickens.

Move carrots to a bowl. Cook the sauce on the stove in a pan for 5 minutes until it thickens, then pour it back over the carrots.
