Maple Brown Sugar Carrots (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/3 cup butter cut into chunks.
02 - 1/4 cup maple syrup.
03 - 1/4 cup brown sugar.
04 - 1/2 spoon cinnamon.
05 - 1/2 spoon salt.
06 - 2 pounds of small carrots.

# Instructions:

01 - Drop the carrots into your slow cooker.
02 - Sprinkle salt, cinnamon, and sugar over them. Give it all a gentle stir.
03 - Pour on the maple syrup, then toss everything around so it's well-coated.
04 - Scatter butter pieces on top and pop the lid on.
05 - Turn the slow cooker to high for 3 hours or low for 5-6 hours. Stir midway, once or twice.
06 - During the last 30 minutes, crank up to high and leave the lid off so the sauce thickens.
07 - Move carrots to a bowl. Cook the sauce on the stove in a pan for 5 minutes until it thickens, then pour it back over the carrots.

# Notes:

01 - Swap maple syrup with honey if you'd like.
02 - Thicker sauce comes out better using the pan method.
03 - Regular carrots work fine if you chop them up.
