Crispy Green Beans (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Trimmed green beans (1 lb/500g).
02 - Vegetable oil, divided (2 tbsp).
03 - Minced garlic cloves (2).
04 - Sea salt (1/2 tsp).
05 - Ground black pepper (1/2 tsp).
06 - Crispy panko crumbs (1/3 cup).
07 - Shredded parmesan (1/3 cup).

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 425F/220C or switch the broiler to high. Place the rack about 12 inches/30cm away from the heat source.
02 - Put the beans on the baking tray. Add a tablespoon of oil along with garlic, pepper, and salt. Toss around so they’re well coated.
03 - Spread the beans out in even rows on the tray. Scooch them together so they’re close.
04 - Top the beans with panko crumbs and parmesan. Lightly drizzle any leftover oil across the top.
05 - Pop them in the oven for about 15 minutes, or broil for 8 minutes, until the parmesan is golden and crisp.
06 - Move the beans to a serving dish with a spatula and enjoy right away.

# Notes:

01 - Pre-grated parmesan works fine, but double the portion if grating fresh.
02 - Frozen green beans work if you thaw and pat them dry.
03 - Tastes the best fresh, while they’re still crunchy.
