Candied Yams Crockpot (Printable Version)

Tender yams simmered with molasses, brown sugar, and cozy spices. Whip up this no-fuss holiday side dish in your crockpot.

# What You’ll Need:

01 - 1½ cups packed brown sugar.
02 - 1 tablespoon thick molasses.
03 - ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract.
04 - 2 tablespoons plain cornstarch.
05 - 4 pounds of red garnet sweet potatoes.
06 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder.
07 - ½ cup of butter, melted and salted.
08 - 1½ cups of water.
09 - ⅛ teaspoon fine salt.
10 - ¼ teaspoon ground clove spice.

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Cut peeled yams into thick slices about 1 inch and place them straight into the slow cooker.
02 - Mix cornstarch with water in a bowl until smooth, then pour it into the cooker. Add butter, molasses, salt, vanilla, and all spices on top.
03 - Seal the cooker and let it go on HIGH for 4 hours. Don’t lift the lid while it’s cooking!
04 - Once done, sprinkle the brown sugar on top and lightly mix everything together.

01 - You can leave it on the WARM setting for an extra couple of hours.
