Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grab an 8-inch square pan and line it with parchment paper, making sure to leave some overhang so you can pull the bars out easily later.

Stir together the oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. Pour in the vanilla and melted butter, then stir until it forms a crumbly dough.

Take half of your crumb mixture and press it down evenly into the lined pan, making sure it’s nice and firm.

Toss the blueberries, granulated sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl until everything’s coated thoroughly. Pour this mixture over the base layer.

Sprinkle the rest of the oat mixture on top of the berries and press it down gently to keep it in place.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top looks golden and the blueberries are bubbling. Let it cool completely in the pan before lifting it out using the parchment paper, then slice it into squares.
